Personal and Third Party Information
Personal information refers to information that identifies or relates specifically to you or that of any third party whose information you provide for example, name, age and identity number, assets and liabilities, income and payment records. In short, any information that theDCI knows about you or any third party. will be regarded as personal information.
It is further incumbent on you to treat the third party information as confidential and you undertake not to disclose it to anyone else other than for use on theDCI site.
Collection and Storage of personal information and use
Whenever you use theDCI website, complete a form, contact theDCI electronically, or use one of the services or facilities offered by theDCI or any affiliate party, theDCI will collect and Store your personal information. Your hereby consent to the collection and storage of your personal information.
The following are reasons why theDCI would collect or store personal information:
to identify you and/or third parties;
in order for theDCI to process your and/or third parties instructions or requests;
in order to conduct research and provide reports and analysis material to third parties;
in order for theDCI to ensure that theDCI meets your and/or third parties needs, theDCI may collect and analyse the personal information and combine all the information that theDCI has about you and/or third parties to compile a profile of you and/or third parties in order for theDCI to personalise and tailor theDCI services to meet your and/or third parties specific needs;
once theDCI has collected and analysed the personal information, theDCI may send you and/or third parties promotional material or details which theDCI thinks may be of interest to you and/or third parties. If any of this promotional information relates to products, promotions, news or services of an affiliate party, and if you and/or third parties indicate that you and/or third parties would like more details, theDCI may inform the affiliate party to contact you and/or third parties directly. theDCI will however, only inform an affiliate party to contact you and/or third parties directly if you and/or third parties have indicated that this is agreeable to you and/or the third parties.
theDCI respects your privacy and the personal information and for this reason, the DCI shall take all reasonable measures, in accordance with this Policy, to protect the personal information and to keep it confidential, even when you are no longer a user or on the website theDCI.
We briefly outline these principles below:
theDCI is authorised to collect and store ('use') personal information in terms of this agreement and will ot disclose same unless legally required to do so, and will only use such information for the lawful purpose for which it is required.
It is however, specifically recorded that theDCI may use personal information for the purposes of providing information about you as a debt counsellors,
theDCI collects and stores your information as a agent in terms of the provisions of Section 55(4) of the regulations to the National Credit Act as published in the Government Gazette No. 28864. theDCI will also keep a record of that personal information and the specific purpose for which theDCI collected it.
theDCI will not use personal information for any other purpose, other than that which theDCI disclosed to you, unless you give theDCI your express written permission to do so or the permission is given in terms of this agreement, or unless theDCI is permitted to do so by law.
theDCI will inform a third-party when their personal information has been listed on the system via sms and will allow the third-party an opportunity to request that their information be removed from the website.
Further to the requirements of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act; theDCI will disclose personal information without your consent:
If theDCI is required to do so by law or a court order;
If disclosure is in the public interest;
If disclosure is in theDCI's interest;
With your implied consent, or implied consent of a third party.
Your privacy and that of third parties is important to us. theDCI will therefore not sell, rent or provide your personal information to unauthorised entities or other third parties, for their independent use, without the necessary consent.
If at any stage, after you have given theDCI your consent, you no longer wish theDCI to use or share your personal information with an affiliate party; you may at any stage withdraw your consent by written notification to theDCI.
